EVERYBODY DESERVES TEETH

I have a new partial plate sitting on my lower jaw. It looks great! Lost three teeth in the process. They were caps, so no nerves to give trouble. I'm in no pain. I really appreciate being able to keep up my dentition. So many are doomed to go around snaggle toothed here in the so-called "greatest country" on earth.

 

As a state retiree, Phyllis was able to carry on with dental insurance that also covers me.  We still had to apply for credit to do it, but if we pay that off within a year, there's no interest, and we intend to do so.  We did the same thing several years ago when we bought our sleep number bed.

I was talking to my neighbor who has a mouthful of dead roots and a smile that is anything but pretty.  It would take around four thousand bucks to solve everything for him and he can find no one to help.  He has a small veterans dissability pension, some Social Security and Medicare, but in this "greatest of nations (?!!??)," his dental needs are not considered worthy of coverage.  He doesn't know what to do and has been told his problems could even cause cancer.  Too bad.  He's dispensable.  He wasn't out raiding companies like Romney, stealing the workers pension funds, being an oversize asshole hiding behind his mormonism facade while being a total heartless predator.  He worked for a living.  He worked hard.  He also fought for his country.  Some reward he's getting!

That wouldn't be allowed in Denmark or any of those other horrible "socialist" countries. It's a shame that it exists here, but doing something about it might mean one less mansion for some CEO or no corporate jet to fly around the world while pretending to be some fictitious god's gift to mankind (I'm specifically thinking of Herbert Armstrong and his G2 jet, but it applies to other entitled religious assholes and a host of corporate execs).

You've probably guessed that I'm in my usual "spit in their damn eyes" mood. A few days ago, we went to a meeting of the local Democrats to see how we might do some little things to inject a little reason into this screwed up Republican hell hole of a state. The wicked witch of the west surprised the hell out of us by actually championing and signing something recently that showed some compassion for other human beings. I'm happy, but mystified.

I have no illusions about being any kind of big wheel politically. I'm too old, first of all, and I absolutely refuse to be any form of ass kisser. Long ago, I lost my fear of standing up for what I am. If people don't like it, tough. I'll still get my weddings and carpet jobs. Speaking of weddings, my ceremonies are universally loved and complimented. Nobody seems to notice the absence of references to deities, flowery prayers and sanctimonious biblical nonsense.

CRUNCH TIME

We're two days away from either elation or crushing despair.  The future hangs in the balance.  We stand on the brink of disaster or the renewal of the promise of America generations have fought for and built.

I personally don't believe a word that comes out of Romney's or Ryan's mouths.  They will say anything to deceive the public and get their way.  Potential dictators always act that way.  Lies are their stock in trade and the litany of lies has been pointed out before in this blog and to anyone who pays attention and thinks as they listen.

They have promised that they won't touch the benefits seniors are presently receiving.  If you believe that, I have a bridge in New York I'd like to sell you.

Even if that were true, do we not care what awaits every American citizen as they inevitably age?  If it were not for the wisdom of past generations, millions of seniors, including Phyllis and I, would be homeless, destitute and probably long dead.  I know for sure that Phyllis' heart condition, which is under control due to Medicare and four stents, would have taken her long ago.  As it is, we can live, not lavishly, but with a modicum of comfort and dignity.  Do we want less for our children and grandchildren?

For millenia, the human race struggled and most died young, many after intense suffering.  My great grandfather lived to 69 and died in his sleep of a sudden heart attack.  A stroke took my grandfather at 72.  He suffered from high blood pressure.  My dad lived to 95.  Mother to 98.  According to my last checkup, I just might exceed that.  I couldn't have even had that checkup without Medicare. 

I remember how unnecessary and superfluous it looked to pay into Social Security and Medicare back there in my younger years.  When we are young, we feel indestructable and chafe about all that money that we could really use right now going into something that will pay off only if we reach that age that seems so far away.  I face the same mindset in trying to convince people that the ethereal future benefits of Aflac insurance really are worth the present inconvenience of the small premiums that must be paid.

We're no longer hunter gatherers doomed to following the herds and braving the elements to survive for a few harsh years until our teeth decay and break and our physical prowess declines to the point that we can no longer hack it and we have no choice but to lie down and die miserably and youthfully.

We should be progressing, not turning back the clock.  Not returning to the miseries of a few short generations back just so the super rich can lord it over those who are less fortunate and scornfully say, "Let them eat cake" while seated on their posh furniture in their opulent estates.

THE LIES ILLUMINATED

I've been branding Romney and Ryan as liars.  Some people might take issue with that.

WHAT DO YOU MEAN, REPUBLICAN?

There is no such thing as a Republican party anymore.  It's a total misnomer for what is in fact the American Fascist party. 

I just heard on MSNBC from Rachel Maddow that even though the courts had disallowed the Pennsylvania photo voter ID law, official Pennsylvania state websites still published the draconian rules that struck down law mandated until she and MSNBC called them on it and forced them to change what their website was stating.  They were still trying to intimidate non-republican voters into not exercising their constitutional rights.

I don't care who likes my saying it.  The Republican party ceased to exist a long time ago and has been replaced by a theocratic fascist party which has comandeered the name "Republican."  Their stock in trade is lies, obfuscation and strong arm oppression. 

Romney and Ryan are the fuhrers of that party and just as dedicated to the big lie and oppression as any European fascist ever was.

The moment I have chafed and lobbied for has arrived!

Obama and "Attack Dog" Biden are on the offensive! They're about to kick some Republican ass, ala World War II classic battles -- and Harry Truman.

I was going to study for my upcoming insurance sales exam but Biden's voice came over MSNBC and grabbed me. He really let those lying, christofascist, woman denigrating Rethug assholes have it. Obama, in his characteristically humorous way got in some telling licks as well.

Ed Schultz just showed a chart of where the incomes of the top one percent have gone as compared to the flat line of all the rest of us while these disgusting super-rich gangsters and banksters plan to raise the taxes of people earning $30,000 or less while cutting them by multiple percentage points for those in the one percent aristocracy.

It's time for the lies and deceptions to be exposed. I now see why Obama has been low key most of the time while he built up his arsenal of truth and accomplishments. Like a skillful general, he's been gathering the facts on his enemies, and he's ready for frontal, flanking and all other kinds of attacks. I can't wait for Romney to be nominated and have his stupid "let them go bankrupt" pronouncement rammed down his self-righteous mormon throat, along with a plethora of other embarrassing and disgusting facts.

They either have or nearly have paid back all the money advanced to them. Where is the recoup of all the billions Dubya blew on military adventurism to keep the military industrial complex fat and healthy?
