Phyllis just said something which got me thinking. She said it would soon be a system of the survival of the fittest and the devil take the hindmost if Mitt Romney somehow managed to win this election.
She was referring to Romney's goal of getting rid of first response organizations like FEMA, and who knows what else. He wants to unload all federal programs possible onto states, and even onto the private sector so rich people like him can make even more obscene wealth providing inept and inadequate emergency services to suffering, vulnerable humanity.
Mankind rose to the heights it occupies by organizing together to provide for the common interest and good. Things like natural disasters cry out for national solutions -- not some inept state by state hodge podge of under funded and communication breakdown ridden little local setups, or for-profit schemes handled by corporate lords with their eye on the bottom line and their position in the stock market.
Nature operates on the principle of the survival of the fittest and the evolutionary record shows that a whole bunch of species, numbering in the millions, if not billions, didn't have enough fitness when a crunch came along. They're long gone.
Humans have the mental capacity to figure ways around problems and emergencies, so we've survived and now constitute a population of around 7 billion. That's one great reason why national and international cooperation and programs are so essential. We have to stick together and work together to make the resources necessary readily available when a crisis comes along.
If we follow Romney's misguided, greedy, self-serving vision, we will devolve down to the point where survival is no longer a matter of who is the fittest, but who happens to be the richest. Eventually, that won't even work because the basis for being rich will have disappeared.

THE EVIL CHAMELEON MASQUERADE
If you want to know how women's rights would fare under a Romney/Ryan presidency, you need only look to Romney's approach to women as an official in his Mormon Church. Ryan's approach is abundantly clear from public statements he has made, all harmonious with the dismal history of Catholicism and their oppression of women. They make a very harmonious team.
A very insightful blog article by Geoffrey Dunn lays out a very disturbing account of what women can expect from a president Romney. Read about it here:
http://www.huffingtonpost.com/geoffrey-dunn/mitt-romney-mormon-women_b_1956568.html?utm_hp_ref=tw
As I said earlier in another blog, when I see Romney's snake-like smiling face, I see the evil emperor portrayed in Star Wars films. Barack Obama praised him as a loving family man. Sorry, Mr. President, you are dead wrong. He is not loving. He is not good.
He is pure evil.

THAT INDOLENT 47%
Sorry, Mitt. We just can't seem to keep ourselves from showing up your inane pronouncements. We're such troublesome debunkers of your stereotypes.
Here I am, at 78, With a carpet repair job booked for Friday afternoon and a wedding ceremony for Saturday. Maybe another call will come in for earlier in the week. And, I'm working Aflac as well. Have to get busy tomorrow making the monthly checkup on active accounts. I'm so lazy and dependent, you know. I just can't bring myself to take any responsibility for my own welfare.
On top of that, can't seem to keep myself off this internet and feel compeled to voice my opinions on so much nonsense and drivel that you and others feel compelled to spout.
Then, there's my little wife, Phyllis. She's been tossing around ideas for doing something productive as well -- at the ripe young age of 76. Just this past week, an opportunity dropped in her lap.
For many years, she taught defensive driving classes here in the state of Arizona, evenings and weekends while holding down a regular career job during the day. She was very good because she set up the state program when she worked for the Arizona Supreme Court and knew it and Arizona traffic laws backward and forward. I used to go with her and do the paperwork.
Seems the state of Arizona is in deep need of qualified class monitors to go around to defensive driving classes periodically and check up on schools and individual teachers, so she has been offered a position as one of those monitors.
She plans to take it. It entails three days of preparatory classes in Phoenix to get certified and a good bit of driving around the state. I will likely accompany her most of the time. I'm very good at finding locations and programming the GPS. She, not as much.
So, Mitt, want to comment again about how dependent and irresponsible we of the 47% are?
Incidentally, we have already voted in this election, and not one single vote went to you or any of your theocratic fascist friends. Go run for Mormon president. They'd love to have your closed, deluded mind running their so-called "Christian" cult! It's only a little more stupid than regular Christianity.

GAFFE A DAY MITT
Mitt Romney has shown himself up again as an oportunistic political hack who desperately grasps at any perceived straw when he sees himself drowning under a negative poll surge.
His lack of gravity and dedication to facts came shining threw again in the last two days. True to form, when his error became apparent, he doubled down rather than apologize for his hasty errors.
President Obama summed it up very well: "'There's a broader lesson to be learned here,' he said during a "60 Minutes" interview. 'And I think -- you know, Governor Romney seems to have a tendency to shoot first and aim later. And as president, one of the things I've learned is you can't do that. That, you know, it's important for you to make sure that the statements that you make are backed up by the facts. And that you've thought through the ramifications before you make 'em.' Asked if Romney's criticisms were irresponsible, Obama replied, 'I'll let the American people judge that.' So yes, yes they were." [CBS News]
Buzzfeed had this to say: "Mitt Romney's sharply-worded attack on President Obama over a pair of deadly riots in Muslim countries last night has backfired badly among foreign policy hands of both parties, who cast it as hasty and off-key, released before the facts were clear at what has become a moment of tragedy...'They were just trying to score a cheap news cycle hit based on the embassy statement and now it's just completely blown up,' said a very senior Republican foreign policy hand, who called the statement an 'utter disaster' and a 'Lehman moment' -- a parallel to the moment when John McCain, amid the 2008 financial crisis, failed to come across as a steady leader."
Even I, with very little political savvy, could tell that McCain was only grandstanding when he interupted his campaign and rushed back to Washington so he could be an ineffectual bystander in that part of the financial crisis. Romney has demonstrated the same kind of opportunism and lack of judgment.
It's easy to lead if you are the rampaging predatory executive of Bain capital who can destroy companies and jobs and walk off with millions in persion funds and a manifold amount of other pirated booty. It's not hard at all to assert yourself bombastically as a leader in an authoritarian cult.
It's an entirely different matter to lead a democratic republic and Mitt Romney has amply demonstrated that he has neither the character nor the skill to handle the job.

OF LIES AND LIARS
I listened to the Democratic convention quite a while today. I was inspired by much of it, especially Bill Clinton's masterful expose of the plethora of Rethug lies and liars.
He had to be diplomatic and somewhat "nice" in his terminology aboout those lying bastards.
I don't.
I won't.
Romney likes to paint himself as a "job creator."
BULLSHIT!
Romney was never anything but a ruthless, unfeeling predator. His fangs drip with the financial life blood of thousands of American citizens his Bain Capital horror ruthlessly rode rough shod over so he could bask in the financial booty he and his like-minded dregs of humanity savagely stole from those innocent and helpless victims!
Yes, I said STOLE!
I mean STOLE!
It was legalized stealing he and others like him craftily got written into law so he couldn't be prosecuted like any ordinary citizen would have been!
Then, he stole from the United States of America he claims he loves by hiding his ill gotten wealth in tax haven offshore tax evading accounts. He stole so much that he dare not reveal his tax returns from all those years. They would show him up for the unpatriotic and unprincipaled disgusting creep he is!
When I see his hypocrite face, I automatically replace it in my mind with the face of the evil emperor from Star Wars! He's the same kind of deceptive, totally ruthless character! And, like that evil monster, he tells blatant lie after blatant lie with a completely straight face.
He cares nothing about the United States of America or any of its citizens, unless they happen to be members of his class, his family and his cult. All religions are stupid, but mormonism is by far one of the stupidest -- and most sinister. He is just as evil a character as the con man founder of that theological abortion, Joseph Smith, and those who followed him.
Ryan is no better. He is enslaved to that idiot "vicar of Christ" in the Vatican and all his insane, stupid, insidious garbage! He wouldn't be able to tell the truth if his prevaricating life depended on it. Nor, does he care a bit more about anyone than Romney does, or he wouldn't be associated with him.
Maybe reincarnation is possible after all. Nero and Caligula may have returned. Or, Hitler and Stalin.
I admit it. I am fearful. I fear what might happen to my beloved country and my descendants if these masters of lies and evil gain control. I know how dumb people can be because I was once just as dumb as many of them are. I couldn't see through the artfully contrived lies I was fed by a mesmerizing cult leader for over twenty years. Even after that, I was dumb enough to vote for "Dubya" twice!
Not because I was stupid. I had an IQ so high that my college dean wouldn't tell me how high it was. But, I was young, careless and gullible. I accepted a message that appealed to something within me because of false cultural and religious concepts that had been planted in my mind from infancy on. I just assumed the Bible had to be true and that made me ripe pickings for a master con man.
I fear that the deceptive message loudly hammered home by billions spent on lying propagands will overwhelm enough unwary minds that we will end up with these two epitomes of evil in control of my beloved nation.
The very thought could make one suicidal.

FREE AT LAST!
“Live a good life. If there are gods and they are just, then they will not care how devout you have been, but will welcome you based on the virtues you have lived by. If there are gods, but unjust, then you should not want to worship them. If there are no gods, then you will be gone, but will have lived a noble life that will live on in the memories of your loved ones.”
― Marcus Aurelius
I couldn't say it any better!
When I look back on my life, that's the way I started out thinking in my childhood and early teens. Then, I got caught by a mesmerizing cultic con man and all around sleaze ball by the name of Herbert W. Armstrong. His deceptive cultic system enslaved me for over twenty long years.
It's been a long journey back to basic sanity and clear thinking unencumbered by fairy tales, burdensome religious rigmarole and gospels. Today, I'm free of gods, free of dogma, free of financial slavery to religious machines -- FREE AT LAST -- TOTALLY!
I base my life on humanist ethics and morals. I find those far more of a reliable moral guide than what any religion offers. No longer are my attitudes guided by feelings of superiority toward any other human being. I recognize that we are all cousins somewhere along the genetic pathway and worthy of equal loving respect and concern.
When I was religious, I felt religiously superior to, and thus allienated from all others who were not "in the truth." The nonsense of British Israelism made me feel racially superior as well.
Humanism unites.
Religion and its dogmas divides.
I see that division everywhere. Even in our national politics.
There is a self-righteous haughtiness in politicians like Mitt Romney and Rick Santorium. It virtually exudes from their pores. It's the basis of a lot of their gaffs that give offense to a wide range of people who are different from them.
Today, I'm convinced there are no gods to be concerned about. I haven't made enough of a splash in the world to be long remembered, but that's OK. It's the fate of all my ancestors I'm aware of and the fate of the majority of human beings.
Marcus Aurelius made it into the history books. I currently have a fair presence on Google, but that likely won't last too long after my demise. I don't expect my name in any history books.
At least, the truth that Marcus Aurelius wrote stands. I can only echo it and see that a few more read and comprehend it.
